The Russian electronic musician returns to Other People for the release of his sixth full-length album.

The alias of Russian producer Danila Avramov, vtgnikefirst cropped up on Nicolás Jaar’s Other People for one of the label’s earliest releases back in 2014. Entitled ‘Dubna’, the release showcased vtgnike’suniquely versatile production chops, seamlessly shifting from soulful jungle and footwork to melancholic breakbeat, experimental hip-hop and more ambient affair. Returning to Other People some five years on, after stops on Moscow’s celebrated GOST ZVUK, the Russian producer has honed his idiosyncratic electronic craft. ‘Steals’ drifts in a liminal zone that’s not quite club or ambient music, but definitely entrancing.
