8 things you need to know for Rewire 2018

With this year’s festival just two days away, here’s a handy guide to Rewire 2018.

We’re counting down the days to Rewire 2018. Opening at 7pm this coming Friday, 6 April, thisyear’s festival promises to be our most extensive and adventurous yet. Knowing full well you’ll need all yourtime and energy to soak up the entireRewire programme,we’ve compiled a list ofthings you need to know for this year’s festival.

1. Tickets & Wristbands

This year’s Ticket Office & Info Centre is at Het Nutshuis – Riviervismarkt 5. The Ticket & Info Centre is your go-tofor picking upyour Rewire wristband, purchasing festival tickets,daily updates and any other general info you might need. There will be Rewire staff manning the desks and ready to field your questions during opening hours on each of the festival days. Once Het Nutshuis closes, you will be able to exchange wristbands and purchase tickets at Paard.

Rewire 2018 festival passes (€75), day passes (€33.50) and club tickets (€20) are available online at Tickets.

2. Festival venues

Rewire 2018 is spread across 12 different venues in The Hague’s city centre. We’ve programmed performances in two churches, Grote Kerk and Lutherse Kerk, the old power station De Electriciteitsfabriek, local pop temple Paard, contemporary music and dance theatre Korzo, and intimate venues like Koorenhuis, The Grey Space, Het Magazijn, Zaal 3 and West. Most venues are within walking distance of each other, and it shouldn’t take you morea quick stroll to get from one to the other. De Electriciteitsfabriek and Zaal 3 can be reached by taking Tram 3 from Grote Kerk to the Elandstraat stop. You can find information about each of the Rewire 2018 locations at Venues. 3. Rewire 2018 timetable

5. Rewire 2018 themes

With each edition of Rewire, we strive to locate music’s place within wider social and cultural conversations. This year, we anchor our exploration around three key themes: Sense of Self, Network Music and Electronic Music Innovation in Historical Context. 6. Discourse and workshop programme

This year’s discourse programme is our most extensive yet. Open to the public and free of charge, the programme kicks off with an artist talk by Young Artist in Focus Tristan Perich at Zaal 3 on Friday, followed by two days of talks, performances and workshops at Korzo, Het Nutshuis and Koorenhuis on Saturday and Sunday. Note that registration is required for the Laurie Anderson artist talk and Music Hackspace workshop as places are limited.

7. Rewire merchandise

Festival merchandise in the form of our new Rewire 2018 logo t-shirt and tote bag can be purchased at the Ticket & Info Centre at Het Nutshuis and at the Underbelly shop in the Foyer of Paard. Designed by Anja Kaiser and Jim Kühnel, and printed in colour on black Carhartt S/S, the t-shirts are available in all sizes (from S to XXL) for €20. Tote bags featuring a double-sided print of the Rewire and Carhartt logos cost €6. You can also purchase both items in our Webshop.

8. Rewire DJs and The Hague Record Fair

Setting up shop in the Paard Foyer on Friday and Saturday and Korzo on Sunday, we’ll be showcasing some of The Hague’s finest DJs and introducing you to all manner of musical genre over the course of each festival day. Drop by on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as you weave your way through the Rewire 2018 programme.

We’re also teaming up with Espresso Records for a special Rewire 2018 edition of The Hague Record Fair at Zaal 3 on Saturday.Celebrating adventurous music in all its forms, we’ve invited an array of local record shops and labels to suit all your crate-digging needs.
