Rewire 2018 Artist in Focus, Laurie Anderson teams up with San Francisco ensemble Kronos Quartet to transform Landfall into their first recorded collaboration.
Inspired by Laurie Anderson’s experience of Hurricane Sandy – she was putting the finishing touches on the work as the storm ripped through New York – Landfall is the first collaboration between the iconic storyteller/musician and groundbreaking San Francisco string ensemble Kronos Quartet. Slated for release via Nonesuch Records in February, Landfallcontrasts the quartet’s lush electronics and strings with Laurie Anderson’s characteristically candid prose, in this case powerful descriptions of loss.
