The modern ambient master explores the outer limits of space on his new album for Temporary Residence Limited.
American avant-garde and ambient composer William Basinski extends his prolific run of recordings into 2019 with one of his most unique projects to date. Following up 2017’s outstanding ‘A Shadow In Time’, a record very much rooted in the terrestrial, Basinski has just released a new album that features recordings of two massive black holes as they merged 1.3 billion years ago. Entitled ‘On Time Out Of Time’, the works were originally composed for a pair of 2017 installations by artists Evelina Domnitch and Dmitry Gelfand, and now materialiseas an album for Temporary Residence Limited.
At Rewire 2019, William Basinski will join fellow ambient master Lawrence English for the Dutch premiere of their recent, cross-continental collaboration ‘Selva Oscura’. Learn more at William Basinski & Lawrence English.
