The Tunisian producer unveils the first video for his new collaboration with The Maghreb United

Usually found behind the scenes as he produces for bands such as Kel Assouf and Bargou 08, Tunisian producer Sofyann Ben Youssef unveils the first glimpse and sounds of his new Ammar 808 & The Maghreb United project. Premiering at Rewire 2018, followed by a release on Glitterbeat in June, the new outfit sees Youssef joined by three vocalists – Mehdi Nassouli of Morocco, Sofiane Saidi from Algeria and Tunisian Cheb Hassen Tej – for an exploration of traditional North African music from Gnawa, Targ and Raï histories, electronically reinvented with Youssef’s TR-808. Watch the video for the infectious ‘Bonganga & Sandia’ below and catch them live at Rewire 2018 on Friday, 6 April.
