Rewire is pleased to announce the programme and timetable for the 2014 festival, plus three names to finalise the 2014 programme.
Geritz / Kaffa (NL)
Geritz / Kaffa is the improvisation project of Thijs Geritz (Mouches Volantes, Einzelganger, Trapper) and Stephan C. Kaffa (Polarized, Soft Posh, iPennies, KANGKAFFA). In early 2013 they started making “Klankjes” (translated as “little sounds”); a set of combinations of guitars, loops, field recordings and other found sounds.
Áron Birtalan (HU)
Drawing on fascinations for obsolete technology, craft beers and “bedroom mythologies”, Áron Birtalan creates huge walls of sound that traverse such disparate elements as Shoegaze, church music and eerie analog synthesizers. Currently, Birtalan has taken up an interest in minimalist folk harmonies and heavy-hitting percussion sounds; which create immersive and expansive sonic landscapes.
Moritz Alive (AT, photo by Stephan C. Kaffa)
Moritz Alive is a DJand event-organiser, audio-visual performer and performing audio and video maker. Using urban enviroments as inspiration, Moritz Alive’s pieces are based round a critique of society; representing urban landscapes as a living organism. At Rewire, Moritz Alive will present his work, Habitus; a keyboard-based performance where tones are linked to photographic images, videos and images of Dutch urban enviroments. The imagery will be supported by electronic soundscapes and melodies; creating an interesting, sometimes surreal take of the society which we live in.
