The Canadian composer and sound artist follows up last year’s incredible ‘Konoyo’ with a new Kranky album.
Tim Hecker is one of the most consistent and exciting musicians of our times. Over the course of 15 years and twelve solo and collaborative albums, the Canadian composer and sound artist has cultivated a distinct brand of ‘ambient noise’ that is at once intensely physical and profoundly emotive. For last year’s ‘Konoyo’, he travelled to Japan to record with Motonori Miura and the talented musicians of the Tokyo Gakuso ensemble. Drawn from the same recording sessions, Hecker returns to Kranky on 10 May with a companion album entitled ‘Anoyo’.
Listen to the opening track of ‘Anoyo’ below and catch Tim Hecker live in concert with the members of the Konoyo Ensemble at Rewire 2019 on Friday, 29 March. Learn more about the performance at Tim Hecker & Konoyo Ensemble.
