James Holden presents The Inheritors live (UK)
James Holden has been in the picture as a celebrated DJ in the Netherlands over the last few years. In 2013, he finally released his second album The Inheritors. This mindblowing album was praised as an innovative step in his career. Nowadays Holden is performing a limited set of overwhelming live shows with modular synthesizer, drums and saxophone. On November 8, he’ll perform the album The Inheritors live integrally, together with drummer Tom Page (Rocketnumbernine, a Rewire 2012 act) and saxophonist Etienne Jaumet (Zombie Zombie).

Henrik Schwarz & Nik Bärtsch “Scripted & Prepared” (DE/CH)
German house producer Henrik Schwarz and Swiss pianist/composer Nik Bärtsch will write a new piece together that will serve as a basis for their ‘scripted & prepared’ concert on Friday, November 7th. The duo examines the possibilities of the prepared piano of Nik Bärtsch in relationship to the scripted and software infused piano played by Henrik Schwarz.
Colin Stetson (CA)
Saxophonist Colin Stetson sounds like a complete wind ensemble including percussion. He impressively uses his saxophone to create both rhythm, melody and bass, using circular breathing and microphones on his instrument and vocal cords. Not only is he a technical virtuoso, he also composes vivacious tracks, as one can hear on his albums New History Warfare Volume 1 & 2. Stetson is also active in the backing band of Bon Iver and worked together with Tom Waits and Arcade Fire.

Bohren & Der Club Of Gore (DE)
It’s an interesting contrast: this quartet, from the German Ruhr area, was born out of love for extreme music. In their music the band effectively knows how to omit, creating hypnotically slow ambient jazz: deep bass, thrifty drums, sighing saxophone and comfortable sounds of the piano, vibraphone and electronics. Bohren & Der Club Of Gore’s last album Piano Nights was released earlier this year.

Herman Kolgen & BL!NDMAN (CA/BE)
At Rewire Festival 2014, Canadian multidisciplinary artist Herman Kolgen will present a triptych of spectacular ‘audio kinetic’ performances on a special location: Train Fragments (an ode to Steve Reich), Overlapp and Dust; the first two performances in collaboration with the Belgian percussion group BL!NDMAN. Kolgen breaks down the boundaries between contemporary music, electronic music and digital art.
Hydras Dream (SE)
Hydras Dream is a special collaboration between the Swedish singer/songwriter Anna Von Hausswolff and Swedish (film)composer Matti Bye. The idea behind their collaboration is to translate stories, films and myths into musical landscapes. Their recent album ‘The Little Match Girl’ was inspired by the eponymous story of Hans Christian Andersen. Their live performance will be complemented by visuals.

Von Nohrfeldt Ensemble (NL)
Von Nohrfeldt is the alter ego of Amsterdam composer and sound designer Rutger Muller. Crucial to his work is the fusion of cutting edge electronic (dance) music and classical instrumentation. With the recent addition of Sydney Sitters (piano), Kim-Jose Bode (recorders, vocals) and Wen-Chin Fu (cello), the Von Nohrfeldt Ensemble was born. This futuristic chamber ensemble will improvise live on the compositions of Von Nohrfeldt.
