Rewire announces third wave of artists & projects for 2026 edition

26 Feb 2026

As Rewire’s 15th anniversary edition moves ever closer, happening just under two months away, the festival proudly announces 54 new artists and projects that visitors can experience in April across venues in The Hague’s city centre – including a special new club partnership for Saturday night.

Among the artists and projects being shared today includes a special part-theatre and part-rave performance on Saturday 11 April, Asian Dope Boys ‘PHYSIS’ – an eight-hour-long work that blurs the boundaries between performance, club, concert, and theatre, and treats audiences to an immersive durational experience. From filthy rave percussion and noisy ambient to gnarly art rock and lucid acid bass, the sounds of PHYSIS draw from the rich and diverse talents of its illustrious collaborators. Its dancers, performers, musicians, and visual artists join together as an entangled mesh in this otherworldly work of ephemeral encounters and alien invention.

At Rewire 2026 on Friday 10 April, in the resonant surroundings of the Grote Kerk, Moritz von Oswald & The Hague Vocal Ensemble present Silencio – a work for 16 voices (both human and synthesiser) which investigates the acoustic and conceptual boundary between human and machine sound. It asks how electronic synthesis might be translated into the logic of the voice, and how the voice, in turn, can be reabsorbed into electronic composition. Moritz von Oswald is an influential musician, percussionist, and producer working in electronic music, known for his time with Palais Schaumburg and his foundational work with Basic Channel.

At Amare’s Concertzaal on Friday evening, the sound artist, composer, and engineer Sam Slater presents his new album Lunng in the form of an audiovisual show with video from director Lukas Feigelfeld, stage design by visual artist and lightning designer Theresa Baumgärtner, and accompanied by a cast of star musicians from the experimental music scene: Lucy Railton on cello, Maria W. Horn on vocals, Hillary Jeffrey on trombone, Petra Hermanova on vocals and autoharp, and Andrew Bernstein (from Horse Lords) on saxophone. From the extravagant distortion of 2000s metal and the otherworldly voice of Horn, to stirring trombone swells and eerie yet warm saxophone trills, Slater builds a uniquely dark and foreboding sound world of swarming contradictions and cathartic noise.

Performing together on Sunday at Rewire 2026 as Immaculate Deception Of History, this special collaboration joins two contemporary icons of experimental and underground music: poet and sound artist Moor Mother, and Chicago legend Jamal Moss, the DJ, producer, and visionary behind the Hieroglyphic Being moniker, which has traversed dance genres with a cosmic touch – focusing on inventive drum programming, intoxicating rhythms, and deep spiritual grooves. When Moor Mother's incomparable poetic and urgent vocals come into contact with the riotous sonics in Hieroglyphic Being's arsenal, something flammable is surely created; stand in awe amidst their all-engulfing sounds at the festival this April.

As a tribute to the late Éliane Radigue – a composer whose patient approach to sound reshaped how many of people listen – the festival is proud to announce that the Friday programme at Rewire 2026 will be opened by Ensemble Klang, who will perform OCCAM DELTA XXIII by Radigue and fellow composer Carol Robinson. This piece was made for and with The Hague’s Ensemble Klang, who collaborated intensively with Radigue for many years.

Rewire presents new programme at Laak

In a first-time collaboration, Rewire is happy to announce that a special club programme will be hosted in partnership with Laak, Den Haag, running on Saturday night until the early hours of Sunday morning. Rewire’s take-over of the cult The Hague club includes floor-shaking DJ sets from OK Williams, Buttechno b2b Torus, Nono Gigsta, and The Hague local Dim Garden.

Proximity Music: The Ongoing Hum

Rewire 2026 marks the sixth edition of Proximity Music, a joint exhibition programme by Rewire and iii, exploring the intersections of music, architecture, technology, ritual, and play through immersive, multisensory installations. Running from 9 to 12 April, this year’s programme – Proximity Music: The Ongoing Hum – takes place across multiple venues in The Hague’s city centre, and features newly commissioned and adapted works by multidisciplinary artists. Proximity Music: The Ongoing Hum focuses on attuning to the seemingly inaudible rhythms, vibrations, and radiations that coexist in our environment. The exhibition brings together diverse instruments and compositions that stimulate new ways of perceiving our everyday surroundings, and features work by Aernoudt Jacobs, Anaïs Lossouarn, Floris Vanhoof, Johannes Kreidler, Koenraad de Groot, Lena Kuzmich, and Mariska de Groot.

These are but a handful of the new acts joining the line-up with this announcement. Find the full list below:
