The Rewire 2022 discourse programme returns to ground the festival lineup into meaningful segments and lasting considerations on the many folds of contemporary music. Bringing together artists, performers and thinkers for a series of conversations, readings, listenings and screenings, this year's discourse programme will circle around three key themes - NOISE, AFFECT and RITUAL.

The discourse programme include keynotes by Marcel Cobussen and Luis Manuel Garcia-Mispireta; conversations between Jana Rush and Caroline Claus, Bianca Ludewig and Nkisi, Stine Janvin & Ula Sickle and Tactology Lab curators Dianne Verdonk & Roald van Dillewijn. There will be artist talks by Meredith Monk, The Caretaker, Lamin Fofana with JJJJJerome Ellis, and Debit. In addition, a reading group on bell hooks hosted by M Lamar; a film installation of soramimi by FUJI|||||||||||TA; a series of seminars by Brandon LaBelle; a panel Talking About Music with iii; a Music Writing Workshop; and a zine which includes contributions from Grouper and poet Momtaza Mehri.

Rewire 2022 also features a diverse and in-depth film programme, screening from 7 - 10 April in Filmhuis Den Haag. Part of the film selection is a focus programme on Meredith Monk that includes her 1977 film opus Quarry, a documentary on the artistic practice of Matthew Herbert and new works by Peter Tscherkassky, Aura Satz, and Erik Carel and Veronika Kusumaryati.

Final additions to the music programme are BFTT, DEBONAIR, Carl Gari & Abdullah Miniawy, Cheb Runner, Ecko Bazz, Eddy Rakovic, LEYA, Mika Oki, Nelly, Scratcha DVA, Yamila, SOON, and Slumberland feat. Sainkho Namtchylak (presented in collaboration with De Brakke Grond and STUK). Explore the full discourse, film and music programme here.

On Saturday 9 April, Rewire and Carhartt WIP team up for an in-store event in The Hague-based record store 3345. The event is freely accessible and bills aya, Torus, and Yeong Die & Balmat (Albert Salinas & Philip Sherburne). The sets will be livestreamed on the socials of 3345. Come over to listen to some tunes or to shop the limited edition Carhartt WIP x Rewire 2022 shirts. 3345 is also selling vinyl and merch throughout Rewire at various festival locations.

Also on Saturday, Rewire presents the interactive installation Plastic Healing Altar for children 5 years and up, by artist and musician Roos Pollmann. This installation will also feature a walk-in workshop that focuses on the theme of sound and ritual. This educational afternoon programme is open to the public for free in the central library of The Hague.
