In the coming months, one of Rewire festival's most enchanting and enduring venue partners, Amare, presents a string of performances across its numerous halls – each of which carry their own charm and special acoustic characteristics.
Amare presents a stimulating series of concerts at the intersection of stillness, experimentation, and total immersion. Later this month, Minimal Rave – Dancing with Philip Glass and Louis Andriessen takes place at the Conservatoriumzaal. On 7 October 26, the meditative sound world of Morton Feldman is performed by the Mivos Quartet and Vicky Chow before the expressive vocal power of Roomful of Teeth happens on 29 November, with music by Caroline Shaw. Next year, in late March, experience the hypnotic sounds of Arvo Pärt and Philip Glass in Obsession by Compagnie La Tempête, and be surprised by the world premiere of Michael Gordon's Resonance, performed by the New Trombone Collective at Nieuwe Kerk. Outside the classical setting, Amare also explores new sound worlds with TOMORA, a collaboration between Tom Rowlands and AURORA, happening 31 October this year.
