Looking back, There is more to it than Casablanca brought a day of enriching exchanges and exploration to Ultima Festival, Oslo. Presented by Rewire, Ultima’s context programme, There is more to it than Casablanca, brought together an array of artists and audience members in a gathering centered around exploring Moroccan music and sound, with concerts, films, reading circles, radio talks, and more. Check out the recordings by Radio WORM and photos below.
At the core of There is more to it than Casablanca is the listening practice of sonic pluralism, whereby sound is approached as a site of plurality, shaped by place, memory, and movement – encouraging listeners to rethink sound beyond western frameworks and through diverse tools and voices.
