Last night the Berlin-based Dutch artist upsammy released her sophomore album Germ in a Population of Buildings (2023) on PAN: A 33 minute sonic journey filled with unpredictable, psychedelic textures and glitchy sounddesign.
During Rewire 2023 we could already get a taste of what to expect from upsammy’s album Germ in a Population of Buildings when she presented her eclectic live A/V show together with Jonathan Castro. Since today we can also immerse ourselves in her unique sonic landscapes through all streaming platforms. On the 10-track counting album, upsammy shapes field recordings and evocative environmental sounds into vibrating electro-acoustic rhythms and moves through her surroundings with the curiosity of a place-bending landscape architect. The artwork for the album was made by Jonathan Castro Alejos and Tharim Cornelisse.
