Jamie Stewart and his Xiu Xiu return for their 11th (or 14th, depending on where you start) album, Girl with Basket of Fruit.

The ever-evolving, shape-shifting outlet of L.A.-based multi-instrumentalist Jamie Stewart, Xiu Xiu’s output has veered from damaged avant-pop to artfully orchestrated rock, black-hearted noise and almost everything in between over the course of a dozen full-length albums, countless EPs and singles, and a handful of unique collaborations. Today, Stewart and company return with their latest album, ‘Girl with Basket of Fruit’, a cacophonous journey through Xiu Xiu’s idiosyncraticavant-rock and oscillates between uncompromising Death Grips-like angst and unnervingly personal violin and cello experiments.
