MIZU, formerly known as Issei Herr, just announced her second full-length album Forest Scenes and music video “Pavane”, which previews the album's conceptual depth and transformational musical experience emerging from it. Forest Scenes, to be released on 22 March 2024 via NNA Tapes, delves into the realms of self-discovery and transition through layers of gorgeous, yearning cello, pulsating electronics, and hyperreal field recordings, resulting in a combination of acoustic and heavily processed sounds. 

Parallel to her transition, Forest Scenes mirrors the complexity of MIZU’s transcendent experiences in the queer and underground rave culture and the thrills of self-discovery within these real or figurative spaces, whether in the vast urbanity of São Paulo, in community among the queer spaces and dance floors of New York, or in the more abstract place of a self in transition.
