Renowned fordrawing out the organic qualities of her trusty Buchla modular synth, L.A.-based composer and producer Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith unveils a new avenue for her radiant and harmonic sound worlds. Launched today, Touchtheplants is a new multidisciplinary label “open to all ideas and formats rooted in the intent to encourage and edify infinite possibilities.” The label’s first release is one of the synth wizard’s own. Coming in at a glorious 22 minutes,‘Abstractions: Vol .1’ is inspired by the silent films of Beat Generation artist Harry Everett Smith and comes accompanied with a selection of his visual works.
