Spotlight: Red Brut

Rewire x Korzo

Occupying an important position within Rotterdam’s underground, Marijn Verbiesen has participated in an eclectic mix of musical and artistic projects in the city. It is her work as Red Brut, however, that we are excited for her to present at our latest edition of Rewire x Korzo on the 1st of November. Having released a self-titled debut on Belgian label Kraak in 2018, she displays an adept ear for day-to-day sounds, musique concréte composition and spontaneous sound collage.

“I felt very honoured and was indeed very eager to do this. The process was very bumpy: a quick start, a big failure shortly after, then came a long way of wandering around to get a more clear idea of what I wanted; to get on my face again. In short, a beautiful process in all its atrocity and happiness.”

Red Brut joins Waclaw Zimpel, Rabih Beaini and Animistic Beliefs for the 16th Edition of Rewire x Korzo on the 1st of November.
