Sonically, Belgian experimental electronic musician Natasha Pirard's work for analogue synthesis, tape loops, acoustic instrumentation, and voice takes everyday sonic details and envelopes them in blankets of lush ambience. Just as wisdom, care, and secrets are passed across generations, an intimate and touching sense of softness passes through Pirard's inimitable compositions. Her music carries a depth of feeling that reaches far beyond the fleeting or superficial.
Ahead of her appearance at Rewire 2026, Natasha Pirard was invited to curate a playlist reflecting the musical landscape she wanders within and explores, which, in turn, informs and shapes her artistic practice over time.
Here is what she says about the playlist:
“This playlist brings together tracks by artists who have inspired me since my earliest encounters with the contemporary and experimental music scene. Some pieces come from the albums that introduced me to these artists, while others represent practices that profoundly shaped my own way of listening and imagining what music could be – across its many forms and differences. From being anchored to my chair while hearing Mica Levi’s soundtrack for Monos by Alejandro Landes, to the goosebumps evoked by the eerie sound world of Abigail Toll’s Old World, New Ruins, these works trace moments that have deeply marked my musical experience and perception.”
