While intelligence today is often associated with technological progress and abstract forms of knowledge, contemporary music and sound practices involve other often overlooked forms of intelligence such as empathy and interpersonal creativity, as well as a deep engagement with local and older forms of wisdom. This conversation with artists Amirtha Kidambi, Farzaneh Nouri and Laura Ortman will focus on the role of improvisation, and the forms of social, intergenerational, and technological forms of intelligence involved in their music practices.
