The Chi Factory story is the stuff of musical legend. Founded by multi-instrumentalist and producer Hanyo van Oosterom in 1984, The Chi Factory is a fluid and ongoing collective comprising some of the most forward-thinking artists from Rotterdam and beyond. Coming together for the first time in the early 1980s, the collective gathered in an old farm in the Dutch countryside to tirelessly and endlessly perform their heady invocations of ambient psychedelia. Truth be told, The Chi Factory wasalso one of the first European groups to perform ambient music on stage. Returning some thirty years later, The Chi Factory reunite to enact their pioneering vision at Rewire 2017, treating us to the atmospheric ambient and mystical psychedelia of their ‘Original Recordings’.
