Tabita Rezaire

World premiere

Based in Cayenne, French Guiana, Tabita Rezaire is a founding member of Johannesburg-based artist group NTU and half of Malaxa alongside Alicia Mersy. Focusing on concepts of decolonisation, race and feminism, Rezaire works in various mediums, including sound and video, often centering her body and focusing on the healing properties of art. Inspired by complex spiritual and scientific concepts, ancestral memory and notions of connection and emancipation, Rezaire uses her work to remind us to nurture each other and consider the world around us. She has exhibited in international galleries such as Paris's Centre Pompidou, London's Serpentine, Tate Modern, ICA and V&A, New York's MoMa and the New Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, The Broad LA and Denmark's National Gallery. At Rewire, Rezaire offers a sonic meditation as an invitation into a collective moment of healing.
