Suzanne Ciani

Performing on Sunday 5 April.

Pioneering and hugely influential, Suzanne Ciani is one of the most important women in the history of electronic music. Over a career spanning over 40 years, Ciani has released sixteen gorgeous albums of romantic, evocative music encompassing electronic composition, solo piano, piano with orchestra, and piano with jazz ensemble – of which five have been nominated for a Grammy. During the ‘70s and ‘80s she was also responsible for scoring TV spots for some of America’s largest corporations. But Ciani is best known for her devotion to (and mastery of) the Buchla synth, Moog’s obscurer and more stubborn sister. In recent years, thanks to reissues and new Buchla synth works, the ‘diva of the diode’ is earning a new generation of followers and the recognition she deserves. Suzanne Ciani will perform a special quadraphonic buchla set at Rewire 2020.
