Zimbabwe-born and Amsterdam-based producer and DJ State OFFF is a rising name in the global club circuit. He borrows from and blends genres from across the world, such as São Paulo’s baile funk, Maryland's B'more club, London’s basslines, and, his signature weapon, Durban's gqom – a Southern African dance genre brimming with raw power and syncopated prowess. At Rewire 2026, State OFFF brings his new A/V performance Umzimba. It promises to be an energetic display of heavy percussion from live hardware sequencers which interact with a language model that reads the sonic data to generate visuals – attempting to give a phantom experience of sweat, fatigue, and exhaustion from a biological body it does not possess. In this dialogue between analogue rhythm and synthetic corporeality, the sentences spoken arrive as percussive poetry and vivid visuality.
