Distorted hi-hats, crunchy screeching noise, booming bass drums, and chopped hip hop beats that demand a bodily response: this is the music of Shapednoise, the project of Italian sound designer and producer Nino Pedone. His latest album, Absurd Matter 2 (2025), brims with noisy horrorcore production, dark techno beats, and corrupted two-step swings. It features appearances from an all-star cast of collaborators including Loraine James, Moor Mother, Slikback, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, and Armand Hammer – the latter of which will make a special guest appearance at his Rewire 2026 performance. At the festival, Shapednoise's set is accompanied by visualisations from Sevi Iko Dømochevsky, a Barcelona-based multidisciplinary artist working across CGI and music production whose collaborators include artists like Aho Ssan, Skrillex, Arca, Cortical, and Grimes. This special live A/V show promises an anarchic visual spectacle fit for Shapednoise's mutated beats.
