ROLROLROL is a project built upon a long-time collaboration between producer and Brainfeeder Records regular Jameszoo and jazz and electronic musician Niels Broos. Their first joint album as ROLROLROL, MUSIC (2023), was described by the duo as ‘’a gleeful and quaint celebration, expressing our love for making music together.’’ This colourful foray into sounds spanning pop, modern jazz, and French touch was followed by their latest album DINNER (2025). Served up on label Ilian Tape, it is a delightful dish of synthy, funk magic, brimming with sci-fi imagination and playful melodies. ROLROLROL’s vibrant chirpy songs recall the blinking lights and beefy sound-chips of bygone arcades, but amidst their poppy vocoder ramblings and funky bit-crushed bass is a sensitive underlying layer of ambient quietude and thoughtfulness.
