Melting into the network, metamorphosing into the virtual ego, ‘0 Selves’ is a transforming figure, searching for an impossible hyperself, within the ever-changing digital terrain. ‘0 Selves’ is an explorative audio-visual journey created by experimental producer Meuko! Meuko! and Taipei-based new media art group NAXS Corp. Audiences must wander through the immense virtual world, to discover live sets, motion-captured virtual performances, and a deceptive virtual fable. Meuko! Meuko! is a solo project of Taipei based artist Pon, the experimental music producer and live performer. Meuko! Meuko! bursted into the experimental music scene in 2017 with her unique sound - its shadowy atmosphere undercuts glitchy dance tracks loaded up with samples and toy noises. Each performance contains improvisation and elements of new works, combining disciplines of improvisation with conceptual ideas of noise, clubbing, strange sounds, field recordings that conjure at times ritualistic performances with sources tracing back to Taiwan’s own spiritual landscape. Between traditional religion and techno-animism, is the myriad of a cityscape with tropical humidity, it’s greenery enveloping the molding concrete city blocks. NAXS Corp. is a Taiwan based, network embedded art collective founded in 2016. Focused on the accelerated transformation of human experiences, NAXS investigates the dialectic relation between posthuman mythology, animism ritual practices, creating its fictional framework for the internet society.
