Not A Word From Me is a new live performance by cellist and electronic composer Lucy Railton, created in collaboration with video artist Rebecca Salvadori and light designer Charlie Hope. The performance builds on over a decade of creative exchange and friendship between the three artists; the result is a generous and engulfing environment where sound, gesture, image, and light entangle intimately. Railton’s use of cello, electronics, and amplified objects builds an omnifaceted world of sound, amplifying and hushing itself as Salvadori’s live projections dance in sync. Meanwhile, the audience’s sense of participation and proximity is subtly shifted through Hope's sculptural lighting which pulses between grandeur and minute focus. Resisting polish in favour of intimacy and friction, the piece offers a space where meaning arises through possibility, and presence is felt as much in what is withheld as in what is revealed.
