Kim Gordon

Pursuing reinvention while remaining true to one's body of work is a painstaking yet essential task for an artist. When Kim Gordon emerged with her first solo album, No Home Album (2019), it was immediately clear: this was a new Kim Gordon, distinct from the influential figure known for her evergreen contributions to Sonic Youth and other collaborative projects like Body/Head. The album, which sprung from a chance encounter with alt-pop producer Justin Raisen (Charli XCX, Lil Yachty, Yves Tumor), is a bristling concoction of sounds, from no wave guitar frills and infectious bass lines to downtempo hip hop beats and high energy art-punk. On her sophomore album, The Collective (2024), industrial barrages of churning noise and synths meet sweltering low ends draped in veils of distortion. Massive bass drums and trap snares form a marching beat for Gordon's stream-of-consciousness lyrics and iconic, lustrous vocals to assume new gargantuan scales. With her new album PLAY ME due in 2026, Rewire proudly presents Kim Gordon for a Netherlands-exclusive show with her band at Amare.
