Kee Avil

The music of Montreal producer Kee Avil fuses guitar, voice, and electronics with avant-pop, glitch, and experimental folk sensibilities. Over lo-fi production, detuned guitars, and creaking deconstructed sounds, her voice whispers intimate songs that are emotionally resonant yet carry a dark aura. Imagine PJ Harvey's lustrous voice undergirded by the experimental pop sounds of Gazelle Twin and the gnarly half-distorted guitars of Murray Street-era Sonic Youth. Amidst the encrusted industrial sonics and experimental leanings of her production, Kee Avil's song-writing and lyricism shine through as do her ghostly vocals. So far, she has released two albums with the label Constellation, Crease (Constellation) and Spine ( 2024). Her forthcoming album, Vapor (2026), with NYC label NNA Tapes, releases song-by-song, unfolding bit by bit as a sound diary of sorts, with each one telling its own story. Hear her haunting yet moving music at Rewire 2026.
