This artwork, which depicts a dog with Molina's face, hints at some of the mercurial elements swirling in her practice: aesthetically unique, tongue-in-cheek, and uncannily strange yet warmly familiar. Her music springs forth with sonic curiosities that sound at the same time like esoteric J-pop of the 1990s, South American folk music of the 1970s, and alien pop music from the 2080s. At this sprightly meeting point between past and future, Molina's music flourishes into being as something truly new – one-of-a-kind art pop driven by rhythmic synths and infectious, glitched-out guitars. The lo-fidelity spirit of her music is offset by the pristine clarity of her voice, which reigns above the intricate instrumentation of her otherworldly songs.
