Performing on Saturday 4 April. Venue: Zuiderstrandtheater, Den Haag.
Regarded by The New Yorker as one of the most celebrated electronic musicians of his generation, Royal College of Music-trained pianist and composer Jon Hopkins has forged a unique sound over a twenty year career that marries the dancefloor with his modern classical upbringing. In addition to releasing five acclaimed solo albums, he’s collaborated with Brian Eno, David Lynch and King Creosote, composed scores for film and theatre, and toured the world with his evocative live performances. For his latest show, Hopkins returns to his classical roots and the instrument that started it all.
At Rewire 2020 Jon Hopkins will present the Dutch debut of his new show ‘Polarity’ for a seated audience at the Zuiderstrandtheater in Scheveningen. Playing grand piano for parts of the show, he will be joined on stage by a small group of consummate musicians and long-time friends, consisting of acclaimed producer and guitarist Leo Abrahams, violinist and arranger Emma Smith and cellist Daisy Vatalaro.
