Amsterdam-based composer and multi-instrumentalist Jesper Vervoort is the artist behind the Jespfur moniker. His hypnagogic music channels golden-era Mediafire lo-fi slacker rock, packaged for the modern era with poetic writing chops and a glistening, experimental production approach. His solemn summer jams are dreamy visions of excellence; their moments of jangle pop and shoegaze brightness drop into careening crashes of grungey distortion, waves of reverberating noise, and surprising jazz interludes. Porous and tactile, Jespfur's music carries memory and emotion in equal measure, the lo-fidelity aesthetic at play cannot mask the high quality of songwriting and invention in music, such as on his debut LP, Pedestrians of Bright Silence (2024), released via NYC label 10k. At Rewire, he is joined on stage by engineer and producer Fallwood.
