Extending from the lecture Drumming X (anarchic magic), as well as the written contribution to the Further Listening book, this public installation pays homage to circles of friendship as other families that give support in times of struggle and that expand individual imagination. The installation tells the story of the other family, giving testimony to the emergence of a first community, one shaped by the sounds of outside and each other: from tired voices trailing into the night to the sounds of the ocean always nearby, from musical jams and the creation of sonic identities to quiet moments of loneliness that inevitably appear, the other family is a story of love, rebelliousness, affection, and the movements of a sonic world.
