Hiro Kone

Performing on Saturday 4 April.

Across a series of experimental techno releases, including two acclaimed albums for DAIS Records, New York-residing hardware musician and producer Hiro Kone has cultivated a sound based around a visceral meditation on rhythm, noise, and melody. A regular collaborator of Drew McDowall (from Coil), her music exposes the unsettling and sublime using a combination of modular synthesis, noise and field recordings. Kone’s latest record, ‘A Fossil Begins To Bray’, is a personal narrative on the looming threat of unrelenting techno-fascism via a collection of ruminative electronic compositions that ask us to consider our heedless quest for progress, and the kind of future we’re progressing towards.
