Approaching her sets and selections with an ambition to blend the personal with the political, The Hague-based DJ Fatima Ferrari’s sound pays homage to her cultural identity by blending Middle Eastern motifs with baile funk, dancehall, vogue, Jersey and Baltimore club. For her, DJing forms the basis of her interdisciplinary practice, which extends into the curation of events for and by marginalised communities in the Netherlands, particularly those from the Middle Eastern and South-East Asian diaspora.
