Formed in 2016 by the renowned saxophonist Colin Stetson, Ex Eye perform powerful, cathartic music where the avant jazz tradition meets dark metal and contemporary electronics. Alongside Stetson on alto and bass saxophone, there’s Greg Fox from transcendental black metal band Liturgy on drums, Shahzad Ismaily of Secret Chiefs 3 and Ceramic Dog infamy on synths, with solo artist and composer Toby Summerfield playing guitar. But Ex Eye is far more than the sum of its parts. As four technical musicians well versed in improvisation, expect a musical dialogue that weaves between clockwork precision and ecstatic abandonment at Rewire 2020.
