Speaking to the momentary glimpses beyond the veil of everyday life, when inspiration hits and things become wavy or altered, the quote serves as a suitable opening gambit for Everything Is Psychedelic: the duo of Birmingham MC Tony Bontana and London-based producer psychedelic ensemble. Stepping out of the nothingness-cesspool that makes up mundane life, Everything Is Psychedelic splash into the scene with a multi-coloured splattering of leftfield hip hop – combining wild, harsh, playful production and wisecracking yet deep lyricism. Chirping chiptune blips clash with dark bass drums and trap snares as Tony Bontana delivers his bars – part poet, part trickster. A gritty, no wave sensibility pulses through Everything Is Psychedelic's music, from moments of fuzzy ambient noise and slick industrial beats, to abrasive punk vocals and bizarre, infectious samples.
