Following their exciting collaborative EP Read Round City (2024) on label Smalltown Supersound, DJ Plead and rRoxymore present a rare back-to-back DJ set at Rewire 2025. DJ Plead is a producer and DJ who draws influence from his Lebanese background to create rigorous and frenetic club music that evades genre definition. He has been releasing music since 2018 on labels such as Livity Sound and AD 93. DJ and producer rRoxymore gained traction with releases on labels like Don't Be Afraid and Timedance. After honing her experimental production style over a decade of DJing and touring, she released her sophomore album Perpetual Now (2022) on Smalltown Supersound. DJ Plead and rRoxymore’s EP combines rigid clubby bass and percussion with twinkling electronics to create a diverse aural landscape of interlocking rhythms. On Read Round City, there is a minimal edge to the tracks, with slowly evolving percussion that levitates atop beefy subbass, sounding in moments like downtempo footwork or uptempo dancehall. Their DJ sets together explode with energy, pushing the bass to the forefront while maintaining the joyful melodic undercurrent of their individual and collaborative productions.
