NL premiere

Dialect is the solo project of British composer and multi-instrumentalist Andrew PM Hunt. His experimental compositions span orchestral minimalism and chamber pop to field recordings and ambient soundscapes. With sounds sprinkled all along the electroacoustic spectrum, he combines electronic elements with traditional acoustic instrumentation to create emotive and personal musical collages that glisten and burst with improvisational energy as well as slow, considered compositional patience. His album Under~Between (2021) on RVNG Intl. carved out a space for Hunt as a leading electroacoustic practitioner, which he solidified on its follow-up Advanced Myth (2022). Amidst the orchestral and ambient tenor of his works is a melodic approach that is jazzy and buoyant, with each wandering piano or synth line sounding almost toylike in its sense of stretchiness and unpredictability. Hunt is also a member of the minimalist ensemble Ex-Easter Island Head and one half of electronic duo Land Trance.
