Cortical create energetic and noise-laden techno. The duo of multidisciplinary artists Sevi Iko Dømochevsky and Daniel Benza create music designed to test the limits of sound systems and visuals that test the limits of the imagination. Re-constructing the signature sounds of rave, drum and bass, and IDM for the modern era of hyperactivity, Cortical's sounds orient towards the future, dragging club music into the unknown, kicking and screaming. They pull from the gritty, bass-heavy world of UK dubstep and grime to create a cybernetic cacophony of blasting percussion and unwieldy synthesis – sounding like dance music made from amidst the rubble of some near-future post-apocalyptic waste. Cortical's monolithic tracks form just one aspect of their incredible shows: in a colourful and overwhelming kind of symbiosis, their music melds with the accompanying visuals to envelope the audience in their sci-fi world of unimaginable maximalism.
