CAAOSSS: Noise as a form of Resistance

CAAOSSS will be bringing an immersive audio experience to Rewire this year, with sound and visual works developed specifically for this event by students in collaboration with the CAAOSSS team, to take advantage of the extended audio system in the New Music Lab of KC. The event will be spatially flexible, allowing the public to move through different works, and artists will be there to talk about their process and answer your questions.

CAAOSSS is a student-run, collaborative event series organised by the Composition, ArtScience, Art of Sound, and Sonology Departments of the Royal Conservatoire and the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. For the 2024–2025 edition, the event is curated by Antonia Kattou, Anna Osuch, Cory Latkovich, Nicholas Cimadevila Ahern.

Connected by the concept noise as a form of resistance, they will present a 3-part programme:

  • Works that focus on their experience as music makers and performers, which will explore their relationships with instruments, musical practice, and audiences;
  • Artists bringing insight into different popular musical traditions, and how current day events affect their existence and perception;
    To sound pieces that reflect on acoustic ecology, both virtual and physical, bringing to light
  • how market interests and climate change are transforming them.With work by with Rodrigo Tejedor Corredeira, Olivia van Leest and Leà Yordanov, Yaara Yaniv, Ieva Jakuša, Ilija Maršićević, Tewa Barnosa, Antonia Kattou and Sina M Fard, Jake Parry and Manuel Bischoff.

As there is a maximum capacity of visitors, please reserve a free ticket.

Directions to Amare 6th Floor
When you enter on the ground floor of Amare, proceed to the middle where the elevators are located. Press “6” for the sixth floor before you enter the elevator. Take the elevator up to the 6th floor (Institute of Sonology) and proceed through the glass doors directly into the New Music Lab which is straight ahead.
