Coming together as an intergenerational collaboration between adventurous artists, the composer, performance artist, and visual artist Arnold Dreyblatt performs live at Rewire 2026 with Horse Lords – a genre-defying band whose hypnotic polyrhythms and innovative uses of traditional and electronic instruments lead to circuitous improvised kraut music. Connected by a shared interest in the rich sonics of just intonation – an ancient tuning system where scale intervals are derived from whole-number ratios – they recently put out Extended Field (2025) on the RVNG Intl. imprint FRKWYS. Coming from the minimalist and experimental traditions, Dreyblatt's tonal sensitivities and inventive touch meld seamlessly with Horse Lords's tight performances, resulting in a brilliant work of harmonious psychedelic majesty – unwieldy and alive in its tonal aberrance and improvisational energy yet mathematic in its exact precision and inextricable arrangement.
