With a hyper-modern sound and multidisciplinary practice at the intersection of pop and fringe culture, Arca is one of the most crucial artists to emerge in the last decade. Over three critically acclaimed albums, the Venezuelan composer, DJ and performer has refined a galvanizing take on electronic pop music, and worked with some of the industry’s biggest stars, from FKA twigs and Kanye West to Bjork. In addition to scoring fashion shows and videogames, Arca has created boundary-pushing performances and installations, including the generative AI composition currently playing in the lobby of MoMA, and ‘Mutant;Faith’, a series of bespoke improvised live shows unveiled during a residency at The Shed in New York. After performing a DJ set alongside visual collaborator Jesse Kanda in 2017, the era-defining artist returns to Rewire with a new live set bursting with fresh material.
