Rewire x Korzo #6: Visible Cloaks, Pierre Bastien, Haron

03 May 2017

With this year’s Rewire festival under our belt, we are returning shortly before the summer break, with an intimate edition of Rewire x Korzo. Presenting two performances by Visible Cloaks and Pierre Bastien, we are looking forward to a night filled with a wide range of warm luscious, dreamy soundscapes and mesmerizing visuals. The night will be completed with a set by BAKK affiliated dj Haron.

Portland-based duo of Spencer Doran and Ryan Carlile, together known as Visible Cloaks, presents its debut album ‘Reassemblage’, incorporating 80’s Japanese ambient and pop with worldly musical influences, combining organic and synthetic elements. The album has been received as one of the most adventurous releases of 2017 so far, Pitchfork labeled the album as ‘best new music’. Live on stage, the performance becomes an immersive multi-sensual experience, with the visual aesthetic of digital and installation artist Brenna Murphy. This performance at Rewire x Korzo will be their only performance in The Netherlands.

Pierre Bastien builds his own machineries, at the cross between music and visual art, which blend live trumpet sounds with screen projections of on-site, mechanical sound sculptures. The Parisian artist collaborated in the past with filmmaker Pierrick Sorin, fashion designer Issey Miyake, singer and composer Robert Wyatt and Aphex Twin (who released three of his albums on his label Rephlex), he is one of the most influential experimental musicians working in the field. At Rewire x Korzo he will present his recentwork ‘Quiet Motors’.
