Listen: Ben Frost reveals Scope Neglect, his first album in six years

01 Mar 2024

Renowned Iceland-based Australian composer Ben Frost, acclaimed around the world for his boundary-pushing electronic soundscapes, has released Scope Neglect, his first studio album in six years. The album, released via Mute, is now available on black vinyl, CD, and digital formats.

Scope Neglect blends Frost’s mastery of minimal, industrial sounds and textured noise with metallic alchemy. The album features a collaboration with the versatile guitarist and leader of New York’s wild and wonderful Car Bomb, Greg Kubacki. Throughout the album, Frost employs long rests to allow Kubacki's guitar lines to stretch and evolve, while subtle whirrs and ambient sounds weave through the spaces in between. This deliberate use of silence and sound creates an immersive sonic experience that draws listeners into its gravitational pull. They promise to bring an all-encompassing wall of sound to audiences at Rewire 2024, accompanied by Tarik Barri’s awe-inspiring visuals.
