Travel from Schiphol Airport

The Schiphol train station is situated directly below the airport. To travel with NS (the Dutch Railways) you can either buy a single-use chipcard or an OV-chipkaart at the ticket machine (note: the OV-chipkaart – roughly translated as the ‘public transport chip-card’ – can also be used to travel with public transport in The Hague).

During the daytime, a direct train will leave towards either Den Haag Centraal or Den Haag Hollands Spoor (HS) about four times an hour. This train takes thirty minutes to bring you to The Hague. During the nighttime (after approximately 01:00 AM) you can easily take the night train, which will leave once an hour. This train will only bring you directly to Den Haag Hollands Spoor (HS).

To check the actual arrival and/or departure schedule, please visit the NS-website.

Connectivity: The Hague and other Dutch cities

Trains run throughout the day to Den Haag Central Station and/or Den Haag Holland Spoor. After midnight, trains will only run every hour from Den Haag HS. This train will connect you to Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Leiden, and Schiphol.

Purchased train tickets are valid from 0.00 AM on the date of travel until 04.00 AM on the following morning. To travel with NS (the Dutch Railways) you can either buy a single-use chipcard or an OV-chipkaart at the ticket machine (note: the OV-chipkaart can also be used to travel with public transport in The Hague and most notably to hire a useful OV-bike at the NS station for just €3,35 a day).
