Daniel Wohl + Slagwerk Den Haag + Matangi Quartet

present Holographic

Los Angeles-based composer Daniel Wohl conjures his latest release, ‘Holographic’, to life with the support of The Hague ensembles Slagwerk Den Haag and Matangi Quartet.

Daniel Wohl is a classically-trained composer and electronic producer who has been hailed as one of his generation’s most skillful and imaginative creators. Blurring the lines between classical, acoustic and electronic instrumentation, Daniel Wohl composes a lush and cinematic tapestry of sound that harbours strong links to an organic past while striding forth into a high-tech future. Released earlier this year, ‘Holographic’ extends his foray into the realms of electroacoustic experimentation, weaving gentle piano, distorted organs, melancholic strings, bass clarinet, and percussion together with striking electronic elements. At Rewire 2017, Daniel Wohl presents the Dutch debut of his latest album as a dazzling, immersive multimedia experience with support from acclaimed The Hague ensembles Slagwerk Den Haag and the Matangi Quartet, as well as visual artist Daniel Schwarz.
